Do you ever forget to look up? I do.
Today I have a lot on my mind… trying to collect my thoughts for a meeting tomorrow, preparing for a jam- packed weekend and constantly thinking about my beloved sister-in-law and her courageous battle against cancer. I sat at my desk feeling anxious and distracted- wondering if it’s possible to catch a temporary case of ADD. I was pretty sure I had. ***Look there’s a bird.***
I believe the best antidote for anxiety is fresh air, so I went for a walk. After an unseasonably cold and snowy few days, it was incredible to feel the warm sunshine on my face. Getting away from work and worries, even for a few minutes was one of the best decisions of the entire day. On my walk I noticed some pretty amazing things I could have missed. There were tiny daffodils trying to peek through the hard soil. And a camellia bush starting to bloom. And the most gorgeous blue sky.
What about you… what do you do when you feel anxious and overwhelmed?
Whether it’s 20 degrees and snow, or 65 degrees and sunny- don’t forget to look up.
