Are you feeling overwhelmed with anxiety or crushed by sorrow?
Can you imagine a day off- with no work, no laundry, no carpool lines, no tedious meetings?
Would you consider clearing an entire day on your calendar?
It might sound impossible, but could you trust the world to keep spinning for 24 hours without you?
You could:
*Go to your happy place. The lake. The beach. The mountains.
*Write a song.
*Paint, sing, or draw. “Exhaustion is the enemy of creativity.” Get some rest. Thanks for that, Bob Goff.
*Eat some creamy, delicious… not creepy ‘lite’… ice cream.
*Take a nap in a hammock.
*Watch an “I Love Lucy” re-run… especially the episode where Lucy and Ethyl work in the candy factory.
*Call a friend who knows how to make you laugh.
Chances are after taking a day for yourself and getting some peaceful rest, you’ll wake up feeling stronger and refreshed.
Let the boss, spouse and kids know you’re taking the day off. Then take it. You’ll be happy you did.
